After your surgery you will begin the recovery process. It’s important that you take good care of yourself during this time to ensure that your body has time to heal and look its best.

You will probably feel tired and sore for several days after breast augmentation surgery, so allowing yourself to have plenty of rest is essential. It’s normal to experience a feeling of tightness and pressure around the breast area as your skin adjusts to your new breast size and your breast implants. You may also notice some diminished feeling in your breasts and nipples during immediate recovery.

Your surgeon will ask you to wear a postoperative or compression bra and is some cases a compression bandage for extra support and positioning while you heal.

Most patients are able to return to work within 4- 7 days after their procedure.

It’s best to avoid any strenuous activity and exercise that could raise your pulse and blood pressure or require the use of your arms and chest. Check with your surgeon to when you are safe to resume your normal exercise routine. Your breasts may remain quite swollen for a month or longer.
